2007: Year of Auto Contrasts and Extremes By Joe Thompson
It is time to experience the kick of contrasts and extremes in
the automotive world because automakers are setting forth their idiosyncratic 2007 vehicle lineups.
The latest vehicle models from Acura to Volvo will wipe out the customary trend of homogeny in
rivalry. This time around, automakers are showing off contrasts and extremes.
To boot, 2007 model vehicles include efficient, full-size pickup trucks from GMC, Chevrolet, and
Toyota. Fuel-saving small cars from Honda, Toyota, Chevy and Nissan create a great demand in the
market. Ford, Lincoln, Acura, Jeep, Mazda and Saturn are also benefiting from their sales in
crossover sport utility vehicles. Said crossovers are manufactured to achieve gentle, powerful and
fuel-efficient ride. Large trucks will not be tolerable to be left behind. Hence automakers like Cadillac,

with a starting price lower than
$21,000. Acura also boasts its smaller version of SUV - 2007 RDX as well as its mid-size sedan.
Chrysler has revamped its lineup. The automaker has added modern headlamps, hood strakes
and a shorter rear end. Chrysler will also introduce its very first large SUV which is based on the
Dodge Durango.
Revolutionary Hummer parts were further boosted via a brand new 3.7-liter, 5-cylinder engine.
KIA Motors has restyled its Sorento and added extra horsepower to it by incorporating the V-6
engine.
Saturn, on one hand, is busy working with a mid-size sedan called Aura and a its first convertible
called Sky, which is based on Pontiac Solstice. Suzuki is about to unravel its hot hatchback - Aerio
SX4, with a base price of $15,594. Finally, there's Volvo S80, a vehicle that gets a V-8 engine for
extraordinarily superb power. About the Author

Forbes calls 'em like they see 'em While it may seem like I enjoy pointing out the missteps of auto manufacturers but that's not tru... oh, heck. It's fun. It looks like I'm not the only one, either. Dan Lienert over at Forbes, appropriately, picks this year's... Lincoln to waste money selling pickup As if this world needed another truck, Lincoln is going to (again!) start selling a Lincoln-badged truck. First they try it with the Blackwood (I've seen a total of one on the road, ever) and now they are going to... Here comes Titan Alright, so I'm jumping on the truck bandwagon, forgive me. Nissan has announced pricing of their new, full-size truck, the Titan. Ready? It starts at $22,400. But you can add all sorts of goodies and push it to over $40k... Review: Buick Park Avenue Ultra The Car Connection's review of the 2004 Buick Park Avenue Ultra is surprisingly positive and, even more surprisingly, not at all sarcastic. I think reviewer Jill Amadio didn't read her contract where it mentions 10% of the review must bust... Hang in there minivan, you can do it! The biggest obstacle facing the minivan today is purely emotional. Everyone knows minivans are capable of hauling family and goods safely, reliably and comfortably. They even do it more responsibly because they use less fuel than SUVs. And today's minivans... Review: Honda Odyssey While SUVs are still all the craze, the old, reliable minivan is still worthy of consideration. Our road tester, Colin, tried out the 2003 Honda Odyssey and had this to say about it, "This new Odyssey is one all-round terrific... Review: Volkswagen Phaeton In what will no doubt be the first of many reviews of the new 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton, our friends over at He Drove/She Drove had great things to say about the Phaeton. Specifically, Paul wrote, "I'll take this over a... Step aside, leader coming through Man, it's like someone hit the shuffle button on the automotive world -- the order just ain't the same anymore. Ford got knocked from its number two position? Mercedes was booted from its number one position? What's happening here? Let's...
